Kelly Rowland is just like you. The 34-year-old singer was seen picking up her 14-month-old son Titan Witherspoon from a playdate in Beverly Hills on Thursday. The busy working mom is set to release her 5th studio album in the coming months. In an interview with ABC Radio, Rowland said she is in the process of selecting tracks for her new album.
“I’ve recorded 45 songs to be completely honest, the challenge for me right now is solidifying exactly what sound that is, I have three different sounds on the table,” she reveals. “So I just want to know what that is and I feel like I have two albums…that’s not cool, I just need one.”
Social media allows wannabe celebrities to play out every aspect of their boring lives online.
Rapstress Nicki Minaj is no exception. The 36-year-old bisexual rapper posted a series of puzzling messages about someone with an overblown ego on Instagram.com. The posts led some of Nicki’s followers to assume she is newly single.
One meme she posted reads: “Too much ego will kill your talent”, and another one reads: “EGO – three letters that hold you back from saying things your heart is dying to say like I love you, I miss you and I am sorry.”
It must be difficult for Nicki to move freely about the country while her boyfriend, rapper Meek Mill, is chained to a fence post by the legal system in his hometown of Philadelphia.
For years, fans have spun theories about the death of rapper Tupac Shakur. While some claim that he was murdered by the LAPD, others insist that he is not dead at all. But now, in an outrageous deathbed confession, a retired police officer is claiming that he took a bribe in return for helping Shakur fake his own death!
The Mirror reports that retired police officer David Meyers made the alleged confession as he lies in critical condition in the hospital. From his deathbed, he revealed that he was paid $1.5 million for his part in the coverup. “The world needs to know what I did,” Meyers said. “I’m ashamed that I let a price be put on my word and I cannot die without letting the world know.”
I know OVO is pretty much the biggest name synonymous with Canadian hip-hop right now, but this Vice documentary on Canada’s indigenous rappers will change your views on Northern rap, and everything you thought you know about the scene up there. Toronto isn’t the only city in Canada that has serious issues with crime, violence and poverty. Little spoken about area like Winnipeg have their own artists from the “belly of the beast” trying to break into the mainstream — and these dudes ain’t nothing soft.
Indigenous rappers in Canada reflect on a unique struggle. In a country where the most incarcerated population is aboriginal, these artists reflect on the crisis of Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women, conflicts around resource extraction on native land, and the protest movement Idle No More, which galvanized aboriginal communities from coast to coast. Indigenous rap doesn’t get enough attention outside of its vibrant scene. VICE host Rich Kidd went to Regina, Winnipeg and his hometown Toronto to meet some of the scene’s big names like Drezus, Winnipeg Boyz and David Strickland and up-and-comer T-Rhyme.
LL Cool J received the honor of a lifetime, given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.. The legendary rap artist, actor, and mogul was celebrated with a special ceremony on Thursday afternoon where the star was unveiled. Diddy, Queen Latifah, Russell Simmons, Magic Johnson, and LL’s wife Simone Smith and mother Ondrea Smith were all on hand for the event.
I really can’t believe that Cam’ron is gearing up to really retire from rap for the most part and focus on his movie and television projects (Percentages 2 on the way and a pilot for a semi-autobiographical sitcom). Last year, he told the world that Purple Haze 2 would be his last solo album. I guess I felt it coming, but Cam and Dipset were such a big part of my childhood, it will truly be hard to let go for real.
However, the fat lady hasn’t sung yet, and the final Killa Season is upon us. In a serious history lesson, Harlem’s rap king is here with an autobiographical tale about some key individuals in his life.
SWISH season may be upon us, but here’s a surprise throwback to 2013’s Yeezus as Kanye West’s unreleased “Black Skinhead” remix has surfaced online. This new — and probably unfinished version — finds Miley Cyrus singing Tears For Fears’ “Rule the World” and Travi$ Scott lending his familiar ad-libs over a brighter, bubbly trap beat. If you recall, Kanye hit the studio with Miley to record this right after the 2013 MTV VMAs.
In an exclusive interview with GQ magazine, troubled singer/songwriter R. Kelly opened up about the sexual abuse he says he suffered as a child.
Kelly, 49, says he believes the sexual abuse he suffered as a child may have contributed to later accusations of child molestation.
In his 2012 memoir, Soulacoaster, Kelly described being molested by a woman. But he never revealed the woman to be a family member until now.
He said the abuse started when he was “about 7 or 8 to maybe 14, 15.” The abuse began as oral sex and then progressed to sexual intercourse, he said.
“I remember it feeling weird. I remember feeling ashamed. I remember closing my eyes or keeping my hands over my eyes,” he said. “I remember those things, but couldn’t judge it one way or the other fully.”
Kelly said over time he began looking forward to the abuse.
A Manhattan judge sentenced 2 gay male prostitutes to 25 years to life each for murdering one of their regular customers in his Chelsea apartment.
33-year-old Edwin Faulkner, left, and Juan Carlos Martinez-Herrera, 35, will spend the rest of their natural lives in prison.
Justice Bonnie Wittner sentenced the men in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday.
Faulkner and Martinez-Herrera choked and robbed John Laubach, 57, in his W. 22nd St. apartment on March 2, 2012, the NY Daily News reports.
“He was my client, we had sex, we come a lot of times to his apartment. We had a deal; he paid to have sex with me,” Martinez-Herrera testified in New York Criminal Court.
“When you’re a prostitute you meet all kinds of men. Jack (the couple’s nickname for Mr Laubach) liked to s**k my d**k, used candles on my skin, he liked to get choked and he liked an arm around his neck.
Sorry ladies. It looks like you just lost another one to Geico.
According to gossip blogger Bimbo Winehouse, this is a post-coital photo of Empire star Bryshere Y. Gray laid up in bed with one of his past lovers. I say “past lovers” because the man in the photo probably leaked the picture to Bimbo after they fell out.
Bryshere plays Hakeem Lyon on the once popular network show that suffered declining ratings in season 2.

Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith is calling for a boycott of the awards telecast after the Academy failed to nominate Smith for his role in the flop movie Concussion.
“No, my wife’s not going. It would be awkward for me to show up withCharlize (Theron),” Smith told Good Morning America Thursday. “We’ve discussed it. We’re part of this community, but at this current time, we’re uncomfortable to stand there and say that this is OK.”
Smith, 47, claimed he did not know his wife was planning a boycott.
“I was out of the country at the time. And I came home, ‘What happened?’ ” he laughed. “She’s deeply passionate, and when she is moved, she has to go.”
“I heard her words and I was knocked over. I was happy to be married to that woman,” he continued. “There’s a position that we hold in this community, and if we’re not a part of the solution, we’re part of the problem. And it was her call to action for herself and for me and for our family to be a part of the solution.”
