Rihanna Wins Today: Ties Record with the Beatles and Unveils Furry Puma Slides
We see you Rihanna, putting in work.
Queen Rih is having the best Monday humanly possible on this eleventh of April given that she’s shaken up both the fashion and music sectors in a matter of 24 hours. First, Puma announced that her newest shoe from the Spring/Summer 2016 Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection will be furry shower slides.
The Fur Slide, which will release on April 22, are being described as a versatile foot vessel for any occasion. The remake of the Puma Leadcat accommodates “football players off the pitch”, is “great to rock with socks or without”, or functions as footwear “for the poolside or hanging around the city” according to Puma press release. They are made with cruelty-free fur and have a satin foam backing. “FENTY PUMA by Rihanna” will be embroidered on the heel and will retail for $80, coming available in white, black, and shell.
Then, according to Vulture, Rihanna tied the Beatles’ record on the Billboard Hot 100 when her single with Drake, “Work” landed its eighth week at No. 1. “With ‘Work’ again in first, she’s now accumulated 59 weeks at No. 1 — the same as the Beatles,” says the report. “All she needs is 20 more weeks there, and she’ll match Mariah [Carey]‘s record of 79 total weeks at No. 1.”
If the artist is able to produce six more No. 1 tracks, she can tie the prolific group at their all-time record of 20 No. 1 songs. It seems that her work ethic is strong enough, so as DJ Khaled would say, “Let’s see.”
