Justin Bieber Turns 22: Here Are His 22 Biggest Moments From the Last Year

It’s been a very busy, and successful, year for Justin Bieber.
Justin celebrates his birthday today, and as the pop star turns 22, we look back at the highlights of the past year. Hopefully 22 will treat him just as nicely as 21!
1. Justin did his Calvin Klein photoshoot that broke the internet in January 2015.
2. In March 2015, Justin Bieber became the youngest person ever to be roasted on Comedy Central’s The Roast of Justin Bieber hosted by Kevin Hart.
3. Justin had his first No. 1 for “What Do  You Mean?” in August 2015.

4. Justin performed an emotional “What Do You Mean?” at his first major award show performance in over two years at the 2015 VMAs.
5. He appeared on Jimmy Fallon and explained that he was overwhelmed at the support from the crowd because last time he was at an award show he was booed, and won the hearts and forgiveness of many fans.
6. He broke the Guinness World Record for youngest male artist to debut at the top of the Billboard “Hot 100″ charts.
7. In September 2015, Justin made a surprise appearance on Ellen to talk about “What Do You Mean?” and to interact with fans.
8. “Sorry” went No. 1 in October 2015.
9. “Love Yourself” went No. 1 in November 2015
10. He was the first male artist in almost a decade who had three No. 1s from an album (last one was Justin Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveSounds)
11. Purpose debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, selling 522,000 in the first week.
12. The album has sold 1.5 million in the U.S., 645,000 in the U.K. and 227,000 in Canada.
13. Purpose broke the Week 1 Spotify streaming record with 205 million global streams and 77 million in the United States.
14. On the album, Justin worked with artists like SkrillexDiploBig Sean and Halsey.
15. 17 out of 19 of the released tracks on the deluxe album ended up on Billboad’s “Hot 100.”
16. The 17 tracks landed him “the most titles that any artist has placed on the chart in a single week,” passing Drake and even The Beatles (the two previously held the record at 14).
17. Justin performed a medley of “What Do You Mean?” “Where Are U Now?” and “Sorry” for the American Music Awards finale in November 2015.
18. In November, Justin had fans shocked, but definitely talking, about the nude photos snapped of him and leaked while on vacation in Bora Bora.
19. In November 2015, Justin announced Purpose tour dates staring in March 2016
20. He did James Corden’s post-Grammy’s “Carpool Karaoke” in February 2016. This was not his first time singing behind the wheel with Corden, however. He was featured in an earlier installments in May 2015 (below) and November 2015 singing his past hits.
21. Justin also took over the monologue on the Late Late Show and left fans laughing, cheering and screaming.
22. In February 2016, Justin appeared in the new movie Zoolander 2.
