Lesbian Commits Suicide by Cop After Breakup With Girlfriend

Sahlah Ridgeway
A troubled Syracuse woman committed suicide by cop after breaking up with her girlfriend.
Salah Ridgeway, 32, was shot by police Friday night after she refused repeated orders to drop a sawed off shotgun.
The NY Daily News reports police responded to complaints from Ridgeway’s neighbors about drug dealing activity. When police arrived on the scene they spotted Ridgeway running away from them, carrying a sawed off shotgun.

Officers ordered her several times to drop the weapon, but she refused, according to the Daily News.
An officer shot her shortly after 8:30 p.m. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died. Before her death, Ridgeway posted a series of angry text messages exchanged between herself and a girlfriend.
Ridgeway’s suicide was the 2nd involving a troubled lesbian that day.
Dorothy Dutiel and May Kieu
On Friday morning, 15-year-old Dorothy Dutiel, left, shot her lesbian loverMay Kieu, also 15, before turning the gun on herself in a murder-suicide that shocked her classmates at Independence High School in Arizona.
Like Ridgeway, Dutiel also expressed her grief over a breakup on social media.
On Thursday, she tweeted “goodbye” and she asked her Twitter friends if anyone else was “ready to shoot themselves.”
Research shows homosexuals and transgenders suffer higher rates of depression and mental illness than heterosexuals.
