I would have killed to have an ounce of the snowboarding talent that the 15-year oldChloe Kim has when I was into the sport heavy. This past weekend, she became the first woman to land back to back 1080 spins in competition — meaning she did 2 1080 degree aerials in the halftime in a row. That’s impressive even for snowboarding’s elite (throw her in that category now).
She also nabbed her second X-Games gold medal, and took home a perfect score of “100.” The Cali girl is a strong fronter runner to lead the women’s snowboard team when they head Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018. How fitting is that with her parents being Korean immigrants. For now, she will compete in the Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, on Feb. 14.
