Many viewers tuned into Saturday Night Live expecting a wild spectacle from Miley Cyrus, that didn’t happen but the pop star made an entertaining appearance on the late-night sketch comedy show. Serving double-duty as host and musical guest, Cyrus appeared in various sketches, including the highlight of playing Michele Bachmann in a raunchy video parody of “We Can’t Stop” called “We Did Stop,” poking fun at the U.S. government as Taran Killam played John Boehner.
Other impressions from Miley included a portrayal of actress Scarlett Johansson, a teenage girl from a school hip-hop club, a hip Hillary Clinton alongside MTV host Sway (played by Keenan Thompson), a strict head cheerleader that gets abducted by aliens, a school poet, a newscaster named Yolanda from talk show Mornin’ Miami, and lastly plays herself alongside new SNL castmember Kyle Mooney, who doesn’t seem ready for a sexual romp with a ready-to-go Miley.
The singer also performed “Wrecking Ball” and slowed things down with an acoustic cover of “We Can’t Stop,” both singles off her Bangerz LP due on October 8.
