Drake Opens Up About YMCMB, Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” Verse, Jay Z, & His Love Life with Angie Martinez

The album is out, and fans love his newly released “Hold On, We’re Going Home” video. Drake continued his New York City promo-run with a visit to Hot 97′s Angie Martinez on Monday night. In part one of their talk, they discuss “Pound Cake,” Irv Gotti saying he’s the best out right now aside from JAY Z, plans to release more songs soon, Instagram jokes, and the YOLO phenomenon.
Drake opens up in part two of their discussion speaking on his relationship with Young Money/Cash Money Records and previous swirling rumors about leaving the label. In speaking about Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, Drake expresses he felt the moment wasn’t real to him. “It wasn’t real to me. I saw him after that & it was just like love. So was that real or just for the people,” he said to Angie. The Canadian sensation continues more into how “Pound Cake” with JAY Z ended up on his album instead ofMagna Carta…Holy Grail, their relationship, and looking up to Kanye West.
